Yesterday saw Christy, Euan and Malachy run ‘Roon the Toon’ for our friends and neighbours at Hillhouse. This is the 4th consecutive year we’ve taken on the 10K challenge for the charity, which supports families and individuals in financial difficulty in our local community.
With 1500 participants lined up, the runners were piped across the start line by a pipe band, before setting off to circle Kilmarnock. The streets of the town were full of supporters cheering on the runners, among them Sarah, Mairi and Eileen from Hillhouse who had several participants running in support of their wonderful charity.
Between team AWD, several bets had been placed in the office about who would cross the finish line first, and it was Euan who took the honours this year with a time of 56m 11s, followed very closely by Christy on 57m 38s.
Our team was spurred on by the generous donations of our supporters, and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who sponsored us – your donation will make a huge difference to many in our community.
And now, it’s time to put our feet up until next years’ race…….
