Today we’re celebrating the news that our Managing Director, Malachy, has been appointed as a Director of the Temporary Works Forum UK (Twf). Voted in by the support of his peers across the engineering and construction industries, Malachy will now be one of the leaders in driving forward temporary works across the UK.
The Temporary Works Forum is a subscription based, not for profit company and provides a platform for industry professionals to meet and discuss any matter related to temporary works. It’s primary aims and objectives are to provide professional leadership within the industry, offering guidance and support to members, managing relevant interfaces between permanent works and temporary works, reviewing current practices within the industry and looking ahead to innovation and developments in the design, construction and use of temporary works.
In his new role, Malachy is keen to drive forward the growth of the forum, particularly in international regions, to ensure consistency and cohesion in global temporary works provision. Malachy was instrumental in setting up the first meeting of the Twf Middle East and stills plays an active role within this forum.
He is also committed to addressing the skills shortage within the engineering industry by expanding his current STEM educational work to attract more young people into a career in engineering.
Malachy said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as a Director of the Temporary Works Forum and I’d like to thank all of my peers who supported my appointment. Our industry is facing challenges, but I believe the Temporary Works Forum is a great platform for open and honest discussion about the way ahead and for cooperative innovation between industry professionals which benefits all members. I’m looking forward to playing an active role in helping the forum achieve these aims."
