Jumeirah Gate, Dubai
We provided category 3 design checks for our client Multiplex Global on a steel jumpform frame used in the construction of the West Tower of The Address Residences in the Dubai Marina.
We analysed the frame in both the static and lifting states, each with differing supports. In the static scenario, the frame was supported by 36mm bars threaded through the cast concrete core wall, and in the jumping scenario, the jacks were connected to the top of the cast concrete wall.
Our calculations included the assessment of 11 different loading cases and a total of 24 different ultimate state load combinations, as well as assessment of the columns, bracing, support frame, and checking of the concrete placing boom.
We also considered local wind speed, concrete pressure affecting the frame and concrete build-up, self-weight of the steel and jack, live, vertical and torque loads, and the additional weight of the cladding and formwork shutters.
