One Za'abeel, Dubai

We provided category 3 design checks for our client Multiplex Global on two steel jumpform frames used in the construction of both towers at One Za’abeel, a multi-facility development in the heart of Dubai.

We analysed each jumpform frame in both the static and lifting states, each with differing supports. In the static scenario, the frames were supported by 36mm bars threaded through the cast concrete core walls, and in the jumping scenarios, the jacks were connected to the top of the cast concrete walls.

Our calculations included the assessment of every specified load combination, as well as assessment of the columns, bracing, support frames, and checking of the concrete placing boom.

We also considered local wind speed, concrete pressure affecting the frames and concrete build-up, self-weight of the steel and jacks, live, vertical and torque load, shear and tension testing for all members, bolts and connections.
