V & A Dundee
AWD designed an innovative temporary propping system for the V&A Museum of Design Dundee, which transformed the existing falsework system, used to cast the double curved concrete walls, into a bespoke temporary propping system which supported 2,240m3 of concrete and steel for over a year.
We assessed 21 reinforced concrete walls, completing over 70 individual design calculations and over 100 strengthening drawings over the course of the project.
We designed a cost-effective, time-efficient temporary works package, by tailoring our work to the site-specific requirements and utilising as much propriety equipment as possible to reduce the costs for our client.
